Cargo Office can help you to choose the most accurate tariff by calculating the best price.
Cargo Office is able to calculate the best price, based on the provided actual and chargeable weight. The optimal price column is highlighted in orange, with the total value of the calculation including the surcharges in the price column. The calculation takes into account:
- Actual weight and chargeable weight
- Sales margins.
- Minimum shipment price or basic tariff.
- Weight break optimization.
- Surcharges (fuel and security).
- All In tariffs.
The calculation does not take into account the additional fees like DGR or handling. The price calculation helps you in your decision but does not say anything about under which service the shipment is provided.
To do a quick calculation, the software needs at least the gross actual or the chargeable weight of the shipment. So instead of specifying an entire shipment piece by piece, it is possible to fill in the actual or chargeable weight in order to do a quick, basic calculation.
Simply click on the text box, fill in the relevant values and press ENTER to start the calculation. To clear all the numbers, click on the Reset weight button.
In some countries, carriers use more than one currency to publish their rates. This makes it very difficult to compare rates at a glance. The same problem can occur if you would like to add import rates to your custom rates. The import rates are often quoted in a currency different from your own currency.
Cargo Office has overcome this problem by adding an option that changes all the rates into one single currency. Cargo Office uses the European Central Bank exchange rates.
To use corresponding currency rates, click the application button in the upper left corner and select
Show currency in the application menu. The currency exchange page group is now visible in the rate toolbar. Select the currency code from the currency drop-down list. Cargo Office reloads all rates and recalculates the price if shipment information is available.
The currency column now shows all affected currency codes in purple. Place your mouse pointer in the
Currency column to show the original currency and applied exchange rate.
