Rate management

Cargo Office makes your rate management easy. All your rates are visible in a clear overview.  Office Office uses a grid simulair to MS Excel to maintain all your rates.

Tariff properties (2)

The most important rate fields are editable in the grid. For special fields like; ULD information, Basic rate and Custom surcharges a special properties panel is displayed at the bottom of your screen.

New rates (1)

Add new tariffs in the new rate row at the bottom of the grid.

Import rates (1)

In case you received rates from a carrier you can import them directly to Cargo Office. Cargo Office supports the import from two kinds of Excel formats:
  • eRate sheet format.
  • Custom Excel formats use the import wizard to add new rates. The wizard allows you to select ranges and overwrite original values with new default values.

Rate manager

If your account allows rate management the Contract Rates button is enabled. If you open the manager for the first time after you logged in, a copy of your currently published rates is stored in a temporally database.

Publish rates in 2 steps

In the rate manager you can add, edit and delete tariffs. Confirm your changes with Save.

After you applied all your changes press Ready-to-Publish rates; an overview of all changed rates since the last time you published your rates is displayed, the “Ready to Publish” rates basket. Finally press the Publish button; a copy of the temporally rates are transferred to the actual live database and directly visible within the Cargo Office applications.

The Cargo Office rates management window has similarities to Microsoft Excel. In the grid you can, by dragging your selection, copy values to other cells and rows. The cell editors have limitations to prevent you from accepting inaccurate values or choices.

Rate classification

Forwarder agents can manage their own contractual airfreight tariffs. To distinguish differences between your own managed rates and the rates published by the carriers you can attach an icon to the tariff line. This changes the tariff classification in a user managed rate.
To change the rate class, select a cell in the Class column. Press the dropdown arrow to open the rate class option menu. Select the required flag to change your rate class.
