Changing cell values

Click with your mouse pointer in the grid to select a cell. You can also press the TAB or arrow keys to move to the cell. The Cargo Office rate management grid View has 3 types of grid data editors:
  • The weights break values. Select a cell, double click or start typing the value to activate the cell. Confirm your changes by pressing the ENTER key.
  • Lookup editors for the Carrier and Station columns. Select the carrier column and start typing the 2 letter-code or name of the desired carrier. While typing a list with suggesting matching your characters is displayed. Select a carrier in the list to confirm your choice.
  • The destination cell validates the typed value. If you type a destination unknown to Cargo Office the value is corrected or changed to “XXX”. For example: you type the city code “DTT” for Detroit, the application will correct the value automatically to the airport code “DET”.
  • Some of the grid cells have a cell editor. Double click the cell or press the dropdown button to open the editor. Cell editor are available in different types to help you change the following columns; rate class, product, notes, DGR, currency and dates.
  • Columns with a gray background color are disabled from editing. The values are the result from values in related cells.
To accept your changes click a different cell or press the ENTER or TAB key. To highlight your changes the modified rows have today’s date in the modified column and filled yellow.

Changing cells by rowhandle

Like Microsoft Excel, Cargo Office uses the fill handle  to quickly fill in several types of data series. You select a cell and drag the fill handle . To use the fill handle, select the cells that you want to use as a basis for filling additional cells, and then drag the fill handle across or down the cells that you want to fill. Release the fill handle to copy the values into your selection.
If you want to copy the values from a single row, click the row indicator. The whole row fills blue with a fill handle near the row indicator. Drag the fill handle down to copy the values.
