Our mission is to create powerful software that simplifies rate management and boosts global freight forwarding. Creating the platform that streamlines business opportunities for forwarders and carriers. Providing freight forwarders with neutral comparisons of the most recent rates per route and easy management from request to booking. Cargoguide, founded in 2003 by Jorre and Iwert Cobelens in the Netherlands, introduced Cargo Office as the first independently managed global solution with a pre-filled rate database for air freight.
Currently operating in 84 countries, Cargoguide publishes air and ocean freight rates for 2,000+ customers around the world, from small forwarders to large multinationals. Cargoguide is part of WiseTech Global, a leading developer and provider of software solutions to the logistics execution industry globally. Our customers include 17,000 of the world’s logistics companies across 160 countries, including 42 of the top 50 global third party logistics providers and 25 of the 25 largest global freight forwarders.
The story so far
Cargoguide was founded by Jorre and Iwert Cobelens. The first independently managed global solution with a pre-filled rate database.
Senator International GmbH became Cargoguide’s first customer. We are proud to say they are still with us today. We strive for such a committed and fruitful collaboration with all our customers and partners.
Cargoguide continues to innovate and makes the transition from a local software install to a cloud-based service. Users don’t have to install anything, everyone seamlessly works in the latest version of Cargoguide. Bug fixes, changes and rate updates are immediately visible for all users.
What started as a small start-up quickly turned into a global player within the freight industry. With continued success and growth, a bigger office space was inevitable and Cargoguide moved to the beautiful city center of Utrecht. A move from Lumax, Amsterdamsestraatweg, to Herenstraat 1B was a fact.
Aquired AFRA from OAG. AFRA was a web-based solution which facilitated the timely and transparent communication of real-time rates information between carriers and freight forwarders in a secure online environment, eliminating the need for paper-based communications and sales quotations between forwarders and shippers.
With continued growth, we moved from the city center to our current, more spacious, home base located at Europalaan 2C in Utrecht.
